Central, modern, simple
A small hotel in the center of Capri, with everything you need for a relaxing island vacation.
The hotel is located in the Medieval district, just a five-minute walk from the Piazzetta and close to the bus and funicular.
All the rooms have been recently remodeled in classic Caprese style. Some have a balcony overlooking the sea.
The Hotel La Prora was built about a century ago by a naval officer who wanted to recreate the atmosphere of a ship in his Capri home. The house became a hotel in the 1950s, maintaining the same architectural style with a passion for the sea. Now under new management, the hotel has fully remodeled rooms that still express the vibrant spirit of a traditional Capri house.
Immerse yourself in the romantic atmosphere of the bright rooms, complete with balconies and windows that offer breathtaking views of Capri and Monte Solaro. Start the day in the breakfast room with a sweeping panoramic sea view and let yourself be enchanted by the landscapes framed as works of art.
La Prora is located at the start of Via Castello in the historic center of Capri. This is the oldest district of Capri, characterized by narrow streets, stone arches, and ancient houses. Despite being just a few steps from the famous Piazzetta, this area is off the beaten path and far from mass tourism, so here you'll find locals, cats, and shops along its charming lanes.
Nearby are two locations that are always immersed in silence: Santissimo Salvatore Church, built in 1666 at the behest of Mother Serafina di Dio, and the adjacent Teresian convent with the traditional cloister attached. As you walk up Via Castello, you'll come to the panoramic viewpoint belvedere di Punta Cannone, which is lesser known than the Gardens of Augustus, but has an equally spectacular seascape. And above all, it's always quiet!
Step outside the front door of Hotel La Prora, walk a few meters, and you'll already be in the center of Capri, in its iconic Piazzetta. From here you can choose whether to walk through the center until you get to the Gardens of Augustus, Via Camerelle, and Punta Tragara, or take a bus to reach other places on the island such as Anacapri, the Blue Grotto, the Punta Carena Lighthouse, Marina Piccola, and Marina Grande.
To get to the hotel from the Port of Marina Grande just take the funicular, and once you arrive in the Piazzetta go up the stairs following signs for Via Castello. A porter service is available at the port if you wish to have your bags taken directly to the hotel.
